I appreciate the fact that ...Good tag line, Marla!
I appreciate the fact that Platt is using our cultural understanding to show us God's Word. It is hard and gut-wrenching and good.
Amen, help us Lord to impact the world, and not just our little world.Rachellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06803302940880309842noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4833714148683674584.post-81400001995850024682010-10-05T09:22:39.135-04:002010-10-05T09:22:39.135-04:00all i really have to say is amen! and me too!all i really have to say is amen! and me too!alittlebitogracehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15877901425923760323noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4833714148683674584.post-30192963440290572502010-10-05T07:57:21.107-04:002010-10-05T07:57:21.107-04:00Amen! As I read the book, I kept thinking over and...Amen! As I read the book, I kept thinking over and over again, "This isn't radical; it's biblical! This is how we should always be as Christians." We may act radically different compared to the world, but we should not appear radical compared to our Christian peers. Sadly, that is the case. I was shocked to see how American Christianity has taken us so far from biblical Christianity - how far my pursuit of the American dream took me from biblical Christianity. I am so grateful for God using David Platt to steer me back on course.Shelli Bourquehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10959512076618212916noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4833714148683674584.post-15176262571885137742010-10-05T07:44:36.197-04:002010-10-05T07:44:36.197-04:00I've heard that line of Dave Ramsey's (liv...I've heard that line of Dave Ramsey's (live like no one else so you can live like no one else) a hundred times, and I don't think I like it. He makes it sound so radical, but really I think it's just Delayed American Dream.

I'd like to change it to "live like no one else so you can GIVE like no one else."

I don't believe in retirement. :)Marla Tavianohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14485117754789717519noreply@blogger.com
